Examine the risks and features of interconnected global systems.

Public health crises

Review recent pandemics to understand the importance of resilience in public health systems.

Jeffrey E Garten

Dean Emeritus, Yale School of Management

Jeffrey E Garten is the former dean of the Yale School of Management, where he continues to teach courses on the global economy, including ‘Managing Global Catastrophes.’ Prior to Yale SOM, he served in the Nixon, Ford, Carter, and Clinton administrations, and he was a managing director of two Wall Street firms — Lehman Brothers and the Blackstone Group. He is the author of several books on the global economy, including From Silk to Silicon: The Story of Globalization Through Ten Extraordinary Lives and Three Days at Camp David: How a Secret Meeting in 1971 Transformed the Global Economy.
